What Is Involved With Planning a Wedding?

By Steven Gangestad

As soon as most future brides start wedding planning, they come to the realization that they have to think about many more details than they initially assumed they would. This is an overwhelming realization for some. It is essential to bear in mind, however, that wedding planning should be a joyful, instead of stressful, period of your life! It is extremely easy to get caught-up in the details of wedding planning and to feel like you will never accomplish everything you want to before your big day. This article is meant to help these ladies focus on the big picture.

1. Your wedding ceremony is truly the most meaningful part of the day. Due to this, it should be one of the things you consider first when you begin the wedding planning process. Choosing the ceremony site is the first thing you should do; you cannot plan anything else about this part of the wedding until you know where it will be held. It is common for future brides to choose to have their wedding ceremonies in the churches they grew up in, though others decide on gorgeous outdoor sites.

2. Picking great food to serve at your reception is another extremely important part of wedding planning. Your attendees might not be able to tell you in a year if you provided them with monogrammed cocktail napkins, but they will undoubtedly still remember if they enjoyed their meals. Often, catering and drinks comprise one of the biggest expenditures involved in planning a wedding. While you are planning your wedding, it is a good idea to do tastings with at least a couple of caterers before booking a vendor.

3. Most brides-to-be consider choosing their dresses and bouquets to be two of the key parts of wedding planning. For this reason, it is important to start dress shopping fairly early in the wedding planning process. It is quite possible that the look of the bride's wedding dress will impact other details of the event. Additionally, many brides would like to pass their wedding dress onto their future daughters, so it needs to be of heirloom quality.

4. Choosing a wedding photographer is an incredibly significant task for the majority of engaged couples. After the wedding, couples will use photographs to remember that special day for all their lives. Due to this, it is essential to pick a photographer who will do a wonderful job. As soon as you start wedding planning, you should begin looking at photographers who shoot weddings in your location.

Remember that the most important part of wedding planning is to enjoy yourself! Congratulations on becoming engaged.
